Commencing in 2004, I initially started my drilling career as a Driller’s Offsider at Stawell Gold Mine. Since this time, I have gained various opportunities to progress my career, first as a Driller in Western Australia, then moving to Deepcore in 2010 with more strategic, leadership focus, across HSE, Training, Operations Management and now as an executive leader in my role as Chief Operating Officer.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to lead a range of initiatives that drive innovation. It is not just our clients, but the community who benefit from Deepcore initiatives. Some highlights in recent times have been the design and construction of a fully enclosed Acoustic Drilling enclosure, underground directional drilling in Melbourne CBD and drilling at the iconic Snowy Hydro 2.0 project.

Leading innovation safely, with a strong supportive culture is what drives me to succeed. As a whole, Deepcore Drilling have a strong leadership foundation, offering a wealth of knowledge and experience, to lead us as we go further. We don’t aim to be the biggest, but we do aim to be the best at what we do.

Commencing my industry career as a Driller’s Offsider in 1994, I worked my way up to Senior Driller, before joining Deepcore Drilling in 2008. My initial role commenced as a Supervisor across various sites within Victoria, before my appointment as Victorian Area Manager.
My career highlight has been in managing the company’s expansion into PNG in 2013 in my current role as General Manager for Deepcore Drilling’s PNG operations. We are proud to employ a team of local and expatriate personnel, including 130 nationals-in-training, to support future growth.
I am driven by the desire to build and sustain a safe and successful drilling service in one of the most logistically challenging and remote mine sites in the world. I am passionate about instilling safe work practices and a safety culture into our predominately national workforce and guiding their progression.
I am looking forward to many more years leading the PNG operations onwards and upwards.

Since commencing my drilling career as a Driller’s Offsider in 1987, I have since expanded my experience, working up the ranks to operational leadership in 2006.
My history includes a variety of specialist drilling programs, across both underground and surface operations, working in some of Australia’s harshest drilling conditions across various projects in Victoria, the WA Goldfields and Queensland.
Drilling technology and innovation (related to manual handling) has been the most dramatic change I have witnessed over the course of my career. The design of the marooka rigs and the introduction of the new MDR rig has further increased safety features and demonstrates innovative features to improve drilling activities.
As Operations Superintendent, this role allows me to work with lots of different people and places and work though any situations we encounter together to achieve our goal. Working with Deepcore gives us a competitive edge as we thrive on innovation, a “can-do” team culture and a broad range of experience that allows us to take on technical projects that others can’t.
What drives me is that, as a company, I can not only develop my own skills, but support the future development of my crews.

Originally from a printing background, I commenced my new career in the drilling industry in 2008, as a Driller’s Offsider (surface). Since this time, my experience has expanded across Queensland, Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and an expatriate posting in Alaska, carrying out technical drilling programs on multiple sites, as a Driller, Supervisor and now in a leadership capacity.
My drilling experience spans from trouble-shooting complex drilling programs, high-pressure dewatering, wedging, conventional and deep exploration on some of the largest mining projects in Australia, working on both underground and surface drilling operations.
With Deepcore Drilling, I have had opportunities to further advance my own career, having recently moved into my current role as Operations Superintendent, as we expand our operations across Queensland.
